:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : GARDEN OF EDEN ::

Some of the garden's offerings:

(Dossier: H&M blouse, F21 jeans, Miss Sixty platforms, Fendi aviators, F21/H&M bracelets, Alex and Ani charm bracelet, vintage Gucci watch, Boyy Slash bag)
Today was a perfect day for a stroll in the gardens. A friend and I decided to visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in hopes of basking in serenity and nature's beauty. I must say, mission accomplished.  I put on my favorite jeans, my gauzy white shirt (which I ultimately almost died in), my new favorite shoes, and a pile of bracelets. My favorite of the stack is my new Russian gold "S" initial charm bracelet that the wonderful Iris from Alex and Ani sent me a few days ago. I absolutely love it! Why? Well for one, it's adjustable so it fits even my tiny wrists (I have to be very careful about buying bangles because they usually fall off my hand), AND it's a piece of sentiment to me by having my initial. It's my new favorite, and a now daily adornment.  They have these really awesome bracelets that were just released with spikes that I absolutely love as well and their rings...don't get me started!  I noticed a really cool new feature that they offer, is their new Bangle Bar where you can make custom bracelets to fit your individual style! Fun right? I think they make super cool gifts and there are SO many options.

So here's my gift to you: When you visit the site (here), and pick out your selection(s) be sure to enter promo code IC2010 (case-sensitive) at checkout and receive 10% off your purchase. Be sure to add Alex and Ani to Facebook -- here and Twitter -- here, to keep up-to-date with the latest news and promotions.

Botanical Gardens, Eco-friendly jewelry, mmm...some of nature's best.

:: BEAD AND EMBELLISH ::

vintage Bob Mackie blazer

Club Monaco beaded bolero

vintage beaded lace pants
(others: Jimmy Choo "Cass" sunnies, F21 turban headband, gold feather necklace Bakers, Target tissue tee.)

My current obsession seems to be anything beaded. At first, it was sequins. Every time I caught the glimmer of those tiny paillettes, it would stir something inside me. Now, I'm really into beading. It's a natural progression I would say. I found the Bob Mackie blazer and beaded lace pants on eBay. I would have loved something with a little color, but I seemed to have a 'back to black' relapse. These pieces won't be worn until fall anyway so it actually works out. I wish I could wear them now, but if I tried I wouldn't be alive for the next post. It's officially summer! I will try to put an end to this madness before I overdue the beaded wardrobe notion. I'm just a sparkly kind of girl and a lifetime fan of well done "bedazzling". So, shoot me.

:: I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE ::

Leaning tower of Pisa

rack 'em

My vastly growing sunglasses collection. I never meant for it to be a "collection", it just started with one. However, being in my position there are certain "perks". Before I knew it, the perks had awarded me a full blown 10 pair collection. Now one would think that I should be over it all by now, but when the Prada Postcard Sunglasses (PR19MS) came in today...I freaked! Fingers crossed that they will be on my face in a later post...the tortoise ones please, and thank you.

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : HOME EDITION ::

Dossier: Express turquoise tee, H&M black/white skirt, thrifted brown belt, Miss Sixty "Nikia" sandals, Aldo fringe bag, F21 gold panther ring and bracelets.

Boredom set in today amongst other things, so I decided to have an impromptu photo session for an outfit post. It was kind of cool playing photographer...until it got hot, LOL. I absolutely adore my new Miss Sixty sandals, they're SO comfy!

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN :: T.G.I.F.

Dossier: mink/taupe H&M dress, Jeffrey Campbell "Kaya" sandals, Boyy Slash Bag, Zara belt, Elizabeth and James feather ring, Jimmy Choo "Cass" sunglasses, Michael Kors two-tone "Jet Set" watch, Zara Man straw fedora.

Today was one of those days, zen was completely off balance much like the weather. I almost didn't get a chance to do a post because just as we're rounding up our H&M shopping trip, the skies opened and drenched the city in a nice rain shower. Thank God it was only one of those quick summer showers so I got to squeeze in some shots...yay!

:: YOU REMIND ME OF MONACO BABE ::

Givenchy Resort 2010-11 Collection

Riccardo, Riccardo, oh how I love thee! I thoroughly enjoyed previewing the Givenchy Resort 2010-11 collection. It's so well executed, has excellent craftsmanship, and so darn pretty. I'm not particularly a fan of red in general, (I think that it's the hints of white that break it up for me) but these pieces are so rich with such strong structure and detailing, not to mention the use of exceptional fabrics. Again, well thought out and well executed. I will be posting another resort collection as well that I like to think of as a cousin to Givenchy and both labels consistently vie for my affection. Can you guess which one it is? Hmm...
