| (photo src: Silja Magg) "I said ooh girl Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" - MGMT I have been browsing a number of photographer's websites lately thanks to a new blog that I stumbled upon (not technically for those SU users). I was so inspired by their works not only in hopes to work with them once I move to NY, but also by their creative talent. These photos are from a photo set/series entitled, "Nadia" by photographer Silja Magg. I love the mood of these photographs. The loneliness, the frustration; a woman in waiting. That is who I feel like right now, a woman in waiting. Waiting for love, waiting for success, waiting for life and all its circumstance.... Ooh Ah... ♥ -S |

I had the opportunity to feature INVEN.TORY NYC during my trip to NYC. I contacted them after seeing a listing on Racked:NY and knew that I wanted to do a piece on their store. The shop itself is very loft like, very urban with lots of natural light peering through a floor to ceiling windowed store front. The office is located directed above and looks out to the showroom floor. Abbie quickly responded and was so accommodating! She even got Mike Townsend, the owner of INVEN.TORY to answer my Q&A! Here's what he had to say:
RICHLILPOORGIRL: WHAT INSPIRED THE CONCEPT FOR INVENTORY NYC?
Mike Townsend: It just happened. With some friends (you know who you are… thank you) we
just wanted a store that fit our shopping need, with new product, overstock,
vintage and price point fast fashion. So when I found a great corner space
on Elizabeth, I contacted them and with their help, we ended up starting
INVEN.TORY.
RLPG: WHO ARE SOME BRAND FAVORITES THAT YOU'VE CARRIED THUS FAR?
MT: Corpus ( RIP ), Cheap Monday, Vintage, Idol Radec, Mary Meyer, Rxmance,
Dakota Collective,… I’m lovin’ them all !
RLPG: WHO IS THE INVENTORY NYC CUSTOMER?
MT: It’s very broad; there are all different kinds of people that come into the
store everyday. It’s part of the fun to have a retail store in NYC!
RLPG: WHAT TREND(S) ARE YOU LOVING RIGHT NOW?
MT: If I told you, I’d have to kill you... just kidding, kind of.
RLPG: NAME ONE THING YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT?
MT: Da beach.
RLPG: WHAT'S ON THE STORE'S CURRENT PLAYLIST?
MT: Cool Artists like Jack Penate, Francis and the lights, Washout, Little
Wayne,
Easy E, Yelle, La Roux, and many more I can’t think of right now.
RLPG: WHAT'S NEXT FOR INVENTORY NYC? ANY PLANS FOR EXPANSION?
MT: There’s no plan of expanding the store, but we want to expand everything
around the website. We’re very excited about retail via the web!
RLPG: IF YOU HAD TO DESCRIBE INVENTORY NYC WITH ONE WORD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
MT: Love
RLPG: ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL EVENTS GOING ON NOW THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE
WITH READERS?
MT: NYNY Party in Paris.
RLPG: TWITTER? FACEBOOK?
MT: Both duh!

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : CROSBY ST, NYC ::
(Dossier: Zara dress, UO Deena & Ozzy color block wedges, Boyy Slash bag, Club Monaco macrame' necklace, vintage cuff, Fendi aviators.)
I took these during my shopping trip in Soho. I would kill to live in Soho! It's just perfect...fingers crossed, eyes tightly shut, and a pretty please that I get to find an apartment there. I just had finished up taking pictures for a blog feature that I should have up next week for you guys. I kind of wish I had of taken more pictures of the city, but since I have gone so much I don't really think about it. I know, I'm a bad blogger :) I promise next time I won't be so selfish and take more pictures of the city. Soon, I'll be living there, so you'll get plenty!
Have an exceptionally chic weekend!!! xx

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : HARLEM, NYC ::
(Dossier: Calvin Klein top, vintage pants, F21 cutout booties, vintage cuff, belt borrowed from my mom)
I unassumingly commissioned my mother to take these pictures of me during a break at my test shoot with Diana and Colin Angus in NYC. She was so clueless it was cute! I'd say that she did a rather decent job with a little help from an assistant and my expert direction. :)
The shoot went awesome! Thanks to Elite Model Management who provided me with an amazing model, and the talented team of professionals that I had the chance of working with! It was blazing hot and I practically melted away, but the outcome was so tremendous that it kept us all very motivated. I assure you that it's some "film noir" awesomeness and I can't wait to view the finished product. I am in a continued state of euphoria and I never want it to end....

:: NEW YORK, I ♥ YOU ::
(photo src: fashiongonerogue)
My New York trip is going great! I had a shoot today with a great team of people and I can't wait to show you the shots! The first picture most accurately represents the mood of the shoot, but this editorial was just so captivating, I added a few more for you to drool over ;) As soon as I get back I will be uploading some good stuff. I would do it now, but the computer monitor here is a wee bit old and the resolution is off. There's no telling what they would actually look like on your end, :p.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

(Dossier: H&M green leopard dress, F21 cutout booties, copper cuff-Ebay, ring - Charlotte Russe)
I had an amazing time at the cutest gathering I've attended here in Atlanta in a very long time. Famous pottery designer Jonathan Adler visited the Pieces furniture and design boutique in Buckhead for a fantastic showcase of his creations. He was also personally signing any of his pieces that customers were desiring to purchase. My favorite guy who is not only a outstanding makeup artist, but an interior designer as well was enthralled with what Adler and Pieces had to offer. It felt as though we had jumped aboard the Jitney and visited the Hamptons for an hour or two. The crowd was pleasantly sophisticated and chic, much like the boutique itself, which is owned and operated by Lee Kleinhelter, who was super sweet and had a killer smile. I lusted after her many reworked vintage furniture pieces! Mirrored cabinets and dressers, hot pink tufted chairs, orange zebra rugs, white beveled armoires, and chrome lamp shades, and you speak of heaven!
This was my type of party. How I wish I always had events like this to attend in Atlanta. Only a few more months and it's events like this in NYC...for good! Speaking of NYC, I'm off for the weekend! I should have some interesting things to share with you when I return, so SIT TIGHT!!
