:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : FRINGE BENEFITS ::

(Dossier: F21 gray drapey cardigan, H&M skinny legging pants and scarf, Urban Outfitters colorblock wedges, Aldo fringe bag.)

It has been the best few days in regards to the weather. Finally, the crisp fall air is upon us at least for a few days. You just never know nowadays, for next week could quite possibly be back in the 90s. Today I had a chance to relax, run a couple of errands, and do a few chores around the house. I'm loving my new job and all of the exciting possiblities and I don't have to move out of my apartment that I love so much (it was a fiasco that I don't have the energy to delve into). Things are falling into place, no pun intended :)

I found this picture via a great little photography blog that led me to photographer Barnaby Roper's website. I really don't have much to say about this picture. I don't think there really is much to say about this picture other than...WOW :)

:: I'LL PRETEND YOU WERE JUST A DREAM ::

photo src | fashiongonerogue
Hey guys, so I don't know what happened with the giveaway. Perhaps, I limited the amount of entries due to offering a specific ring size, or most of you just didn't like what I had to offer. I only had 4 people to enter, so there wasn't much to choose from. I won't go into what I had to do to even offer you a giveaway, but better luck next time. Please feel free to leave feedback so I can know where I might have went wrong so that I may offer something better next time!

So, without further ado, the winner is...KT! I will email you soon to get further details, it is still being made as we speak! Congrats and thank you for entering!

:: SO INSPIRED BY : REED KRAKOFF ::

photo src | reedkrakoff.com
Who is Reed Krakoff you might ask? Have you been seeing his name in every issue of countless fashion magazines? I am sure you have. I had the pleasure of seeing his collection for the first time early this year via The Sartorialist; and while astonished by his amazing collection, knew little of who he was, much like some of you now. Well, after a little research, I've come to know Mr. Krakoff as the Creative Director for Coach. I had noticed a significant change in the design of Coach bags over the years and it is by the hands and mind of this man that I speak of. He has recently created The Reed Krakoff Collection while still fulfilling his tenure at Coach and might I say, that it is truly amazing. The collection shown in the collage that I created above is RK's debut fall collection (he recently showed his Spring/Summer 2011 collection during NYFW). I don't know about you, but I want everything listed on the diagram above. Yep, I'm greedy like that ;)

:: RUNWAY : GUCCI S/S 2011 DETAILS ::

photo src | vogue.com

See full collection, here.

Not to sound mean or judgmental, but finally Gucci comes to life! I can only imagine how difficult it can be to follow a legacy, and to carry a powerhouse brand as Creative Director. Everyone has their ups and downs, their highs and lows, their glory and demise, etc, etc... So, I am not saying that I have not appreciated nor disliked Frida's past collections for Gucci. However, this...this right here? Is...magic! Can anybody say revival?

BTW, thank you guys for all the wonderful comments on the Sartorialist post! I'm glad that you enjoyed it because it was one of the highlights of my year. And yes, Scott Schuman is really that short! :)

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN: PRETTY TORN ::

 (Dossier: H&M silk top, F21 jeans (self-ripped) and studded pumps, Boyy bag (flipped over), Alex & Ani bangle, Elizabeth & James feather ring)

What an amazing day! I landed the job that I wanted, enjoyed reading all of your sweet comments, and prepared for my first television appearance! I'll post the video as soon as I get it. I will be speaking on a segment about dress for less. Of course, so up my alley right? It will be for high school girls during homecoming, but it's something that I think we all can related to. So, I'll keep you posted! It has truly been a whirlwind of emotions not sure if I was moving to NYC or staying in Atlanta, but it's official. I will be staying here for awhile longer. Honestly, I can't complain about that :)

P.S. Don't forget to enter the giveaway, HERE! There are five more days to enter. Surely, more than three people want to win ;) Here are the rules again, and feel free to email me if you have any questions!
  1. "follow" the blog by pressing the google friend connect button on the right side of the page.
  2. "like" RLPG on Facebook
  3. Leave a comment with your email address to be notified if you win!

I was super excited to find out that Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist himself was going to be coming to Atlanta for an Artist Talk at the Hagedorn Foundation Gallery. I would've never imagine such a thing actually happening even if it was perfectly concocted in my imaginative mind. Sure enough, there he was with Garance Dore' in tow, which might I add is just as stunning in person. The night went pretty well despite the insane temperature inside the crowded little gallery. I had the opportunity to briefly chat with Scott and successfully held a smooth dialogue until I had a small fumble at his "Who is your favorite designer?" question. I think it was between his intent gaze and the fact that air begins to swell in my brain whenever I am asked this question. It's such an easy question at that, but hey, people make me nervous especially people like Scott. So, who is my favorite designer? I don't have one, I have a few. My favorite designers du jour would have to be Pheobe Philo for Celine, Jen Kao, and Cushnie et Ochs. Though, I have grown rather fond of Reed Krakoff and extremely enjoyed Mara Hoffman's S/S 2011 collection. There are so many great designers and design houses out there and I so enjoy them all!

:: THANKSGIVING ::

photo src | etsy
When I saw these cute little stacking rings, I just had to have them. I loved the rustic look of them and the fact that they were delicate but were very versatile. I usually love big rings and that hasn't changed, but sometimes you want something not so chunky and more everyday. That's what I loved about these and I ordered about four different ones. I will post pics of course once I have received them. They can go with anything and I am even thinking about ordering  some turquoise or other stone stacking rings to mix and match.

So, here's where the giveaway comes in. As my way to say thanks, one of my lucky readers will receive this exact set as shown above in a size 7. It is one plain stacking ring, and the other is a stacking ring with a small nugget. All you have to do are these super easy steps:
  1. "follow" the blog by pressing the button on the right side of the page.
  2. "like" RLPG on Facebook
  3. Leave a comment with your email address to be notified if you win!
That's it! Good Luck!

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : NO MAS ::

(Dossier: Mossimo for Target sweater, Gap 1969 denim leggings, F21 mary jane pumps, YSL Mombasa suede bag (old)

 I am getting so annoyed with the weather here in Atlanta! I know I will be dying for this weather come January, but I am so over this heat! All of my friends who are attending NY Fashion Week sans moi, are wearing jackets and blazers. I even saw a picture of a guy in the Burberry A/W 2010 shearling aviator jacket! And what do we have here? 85 degree weather with me wearing a tissue-thin sweater and a pair of jeans and I practically melted.

Any who, I took these at an old location for a popular Mexican cantina known as No Mas. I shot here for a photo shoot before and I just love this orange wall. The place was in complete shambles this time around with tons of overgrown grass and cement blocking piles. Such a shame, there were other great places to shoot but I was afraid I would have ticks and other unknown bugs stuck to me by the end.

I'm wearing one of the red lip colors that I told you about a few days ago. This one is actually the velvet matte pencil by NARS in Cruella. I just lined my lips and filled in with the pencil instead of using lipstick with it.
Lasts. All. Day.

:: RUNWAY: JEN KAO S/S 2011 ::

photo src | fashionising
 "We now interrupt your regularly scheduled fall blogging mania to bring to you a little taste of Spring 2011."

I'm not going to be blogging all of the runway shows because to me it's gets to be pretty boring, pretty quick. However, I will share with you some of my NYFW favorites with some runway and other fashiony stuff. Okay, let me say that I am so in love with Jen Kao (remember Holy Kao?)! Definitely one of my favorite designers, so when I received word that her show had been posted, I was very excited. Her mix of materials is breathtaking to say the least. I mean, ostrich and silk with crochet? Whoa.

:: L'AUTOMNE. AUTUNNO.OTUÑO ::

photo src | fashiongonerogue, google images, allsaints

I'm usually pretty lazy when it comes to making inspiration and trend boards. Besides, I am not that savvy on Polyvore, nor did I ever take a keen interest to the creative process. I've seen some super amazing Polyvore boards floating around out there, but I felt like the slow kid in class. So tonight, when making a trend board was the farthest thing from my mind, I become strangely inspired by one of my fashion magazine's trend pages. I thought to myself, "Aren't those essentially trend boards? Duh..." So with all that said, I made my first trend board reminiscent of a magazine. I am pretty psyched about how it came out...two hours later!

What do you think? And may I note that most of the items listed on here are if it were a perfect world and I was a poor little RICH girl and not the other way around ;)

:: CHERRY ON TOP ::

photo src | jamie nelson
I'm going to dare to wear red this year! I have been contemplating this decision for awhile now, before it became THE color for fall, but always chickened out. No Chicken Little this go around! I am pleased to say that I have found two great shades of red. One is Ruby Woo by MAC (pictured above) and the other, more demure choice is Red Lizard by NARS. I'll post some shots of the two soon.

Do you dare to wear red? Have you found the perfect color for you? Please share!

:: G.A.T. : TIN ROOF SUNDAY ::

(Dossier: vintage tie-neck blouse, Gap 1969 denim leggings, Jessica Simpson Evoni Platforms, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag worn as clutch, eBay hooded nubby cardigan)

For the past two days the weather has been absolutely phenomenal! Not quite fall temperatures yet, but a welcome relief to the smoldering heat that I've endured for the past three months. I thought today would be great to bring my MBMJ taupe patent bag out of hibernation and give the Boyy a rest. I figured I would make it feel new by wearing as an oversize clutch instead of using the shoulder strap...end result? LOVE. I couldn't wait to bust out my new cardigan I scored for next to nothing via eBay. Yes, I am addicted to eBay and I'll be the first to admit it. Since this blog is based on the fact that I have rich girl taste but poor girl money, it pleases me to find great looking items for cheap! So yeah, this cardigan is so comfy and different. It's definitely going to be one on repeat for outfits.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Labor Day weekend! Welcome fall!
