:: GHOSTS IN MY MACHINE ::

photo src | fashiongonerogue
It's that time of year again, the beginning of the festive season that is filled will fetes and celebrations up until the new year. First up? Halloween. Once again, I have no plans for this particular occasion, although I did come super close to being a vampire which would've been perfect for me. At the risk of sounding like a complete weirdo, I won't go into details of why I made that proclamation. Shame though, it's times like this that I wish I wasn't such a procrastinator. Ah, perhaps next year? Who knows? I hope everyone has a fantastic and enviably awesome Halloween weekend. Catch you on the flip side :)

:: FASHION QUEST : SOMETHING BLUE ::

photo src | stockholmstreetsyle
As soon as I came across this picture, the first thing I noticed was this stunning blue clutch. It provoked an instant and uncontrollable droolfest due to many obvious reasons. Obvious reason #1: The color - it's cerulean, not blue. Obvious reason #2: It's a piece from Louis Vuitton's Epi Leather collection (my fave) Obvious reason #3: It's a clutch, and I think we all can recall my recent ramblings about clutch bags. See here and here to jog your memory.

I've been on the hunt to find this bag! Found one, finally that's vintage, good condition, but it's red :( I will happily take the red as a substitute, but this blue err...cerulean...is amazing, no?

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : FOREST NYMPH ::

(Dossier: H&M silk shirt dress, Aldo boots, Ebay velvet burnout scarf, Elliott Lucca bag)

Just a little oldie picture set I snapped awhile back during a test shoot I was styling in the woods.  It's actually a forest preserve nestled behind one of the busiest streets known to man while still being one of the most serene places I've ever been. Things have been tres hectique <= (totally a made up word, pay no attention) these last few days so I've been on the laziness front in regards to posting. BUT! I should be back to normal posting tomorrow so stay tuned....

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : PAISLEY DREAMS ::

(Dossier: Free People sequin sweater, H&M sweatpants, DV Wendall boots, vintage Chanel bag, my mom's wool paisley scarf, Michael Kors watch, Jimmy Choo sunglasses)

 On the way to a friend's house after an early day at work. I have to wear a uniform to work, so often times I do not have the pleasure of dressing up. So, to compensate for such dismay, I tend to dress up to go everywhere else. Whether it be the grocery store, the bookstore, Target, just to name a few. This look would be my "dressed up to go nowhere in particular" outfit. It's comfortable, neither overly casual nor overly dressy, and makes for a easy and effortless "girl about town" ensemble. I have always loved the color combination of gray and brown. It's sort of like, "Hey, Mr. Neutral meet Mr. Neutral" and they became best friends.

Hope everyone is enjoying their week thus far. Ciao!

:: THE BOYYS ARE BACK ::

SLASHcalf LEOPARD | $685

SLASHcalf II | $645
 Woohoo! If you have been following this blog for awhile or even recently, you have seen me wear my favorite bag in the whole world. You've seen it worn as a clutch and as a shoulder bag, as well as on the black hand side and the traditional snake skin side. Well, I thought I would take a gander at the Boyy website just to see what kind of party they were throwing over there and too my amusement, there were new Boyy Slash bags for sale! There were also some new styles available such as the Baron III, the Jake and other "Boyy Soldiers".  When I saw the Slash bag in leopard calf hair...well you know what happened...I gagged and died. Upon resurrection, I saw the Slash in the sweatshirt grey leather with calf hair flap and then gagged and died again. Ah...murder she wrote. Check it out if you dare, and if you make it out alive and decide to purchase one of these bad Boyys, tell them I sent ya ;)

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : JUXTAPOSE ::

(Dossier: F21 faux fur vest, H&M silk blouse and cargo shorts (men's), Aldo heels, Fendi aviators)

I have been obsessing over wearing a pair of men’s olive cargo shorts for some time now. Please don’t ask me why, it’s just one of those things you know? I thought it would be cool to take something masculine and pair it with feminine details. I am still on the hunt for the perfect pair of skinny cargos. I can't seem to find a pair that flatter my shape. Time after time, I select a pair and fingers crossed, enter a dressing room only to look in the mirror in disgust by the fit. Ah, pants are my most favorite thing to wear, but it's always hell on earth to find perfection and flattery. So, these shorts will have to do and "Hey, guess what?" They were only $15. I wanted to find some super cheap ones just in case I didn’t want to commit to the look. But, I love it and besides…they are super comfortable ;)

P.S. This shirt drives me insane! It hangs on the body in such a weird way. And here I thought I was getting a deal when I purchased it. That's what I get for not trying things on first. Bah humbug!

:: BRICK CITY ::

photo src | fashiongonerogue
I've been so inspired lately with photos taken against brick walls. I've seen other bloggers do it and now I found these images of Mariacarla Boscono for the Bergdorf Goodman fall catalog. I wonder what it is about a brick wall that makes it a perfect accent to something pretty? I suppose its pattern is sort of like art in itself, possessing both beauty and grit in one package. I'm on the hunt for brick walls around the city, especially painted ones :)

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN : RELAXED & NATURAL ::

(Dossier: vintage fur collar/stole, target sweater (clearance, old), H&M maxi dress, Aldo sheer booties, Boyy bag, cuff from eBay)
Hey there! Soooo...I was off today and thought it would be beneficial to run a few errands and stop by a few stores to see some items I've been craving in person. Well, long story short, I never did run those errands and immediately went home after doing a little damage in H&M. One store and I was done! I'm hanging my head in shame here folks. On the brighter side, I did snag some much needed trousers and couple of cool scarves. I just love the herringbone oversize scarf! It's humongo and so comfy. This was a cool alternative to the multicolored one that I nearly bought a few weeks ago which is long gone now. This one is almost as wonderful and was exactly half the price. I'll post some images soon! Toodles!

:: DEAR SOPHIA ::

I came across this photo whilst browsing Fashion Gone Rogue some time ago. Immediately, I found the model not only striking, but thought she had an uncanny resemblance to a young Sophia Loren.

:: BAG DU JOUR ::

photo src | stockholmstreetstyle, style.com
 I have this insane obsession with clutches. Oversize slouchy clutches, envelope clutches, vintage clutches, box clutches, wearing strap bags as clutches, you name it...I love it. So my little heart was spinning out of control at the sight of all these detail shots of the fashionable women of Paris and beyond with their extraordinary clutch bags. I organized the images in ascending order from simple and sophisticated to eclectic and dramatic. My favorites are hands down the ones by Celine, quite symptomatic of a Philophiliac, but nevertheless absolutely stunning.

:: GIRL ABOUT TOWN ::

(Dossier: vintage Ungaro camel blazer, Gap 1969 denim leggings, Aldo thigh boots, F21 lace top, vintage Chanel bag, Fendi aviators)

Oh, the weather is so dreamy! I hope everyone is enjoying their week thus far. Thank you so much for checking in to see what I have to say! I've been enjoying reading everyone's comments and visiting your blogs :)

It's "Hump Day", so only two more days until the weekend. I still wonder why Wednesday is even called "Hump Day"? Perhaps I'll google it. Speaking of humps, I am wearing my new camel Ungaro blazer that I picked up at the vintage trunk show I mentioned here. It's so perfect, I still can't believe it was on $35. I live for a great find, how about you?
