DIARY OF A SHOPAHOLIC: NEW FROM ZARA

I always look forward to Zara's monthly Lookbooks. How beautiful is model Liu Wen for the April edition? I already purchased the fringed poncho sweater! I couldn't help myself, as it's the poor girl's version of Isabel Marant S/S 12 poncho fringed sweater. It's an 'inspired' version too good to pass up ;-)

SO INSPIRED BY // TATA NAKA

ph: Natalia Alaverdian for Tata Naka

British designer duo Tata Naka, designers of the popular biker coat as seen on IT girl Miroslava Duma during PFW. I am in awe of their design and construction. The feminine silhouettes with architectural elements, the mixture of prints and textures...le sigh. Not to mention they cast some of the most beautiful models for the A/W 2012-13 presentation, my God. Amour.

News Flash: The biker coat and jacket are now available for pre-order on the Tata Naka site.

STREET STYLE IN MOTION

I found this cool video on Nowness of one of my favorite street style muses from London Fashion Week.
I hope to take CURB APPEAL abroad one day soon and am dying to spot Ondine on the streets of London or Milan.

ON MODA OPERANDI:

I'm obsessed with the Moda Operandi site. It is perfect for girls like me, who are eager to get their hands on the new collections of the upcoming season. Sure, the stuff is expensive...I mean, they're designer goods after all. Great thing is that it works on a 'half now, half later' sort of deal. PERFECT.

DAPHNE'S POUTY MOUTH

ph: Richard Bush for i-D Magazine

One could argue the validity of Daphne Groeneveld's beauty. Some, have even been quoted as calling her, "strange looking" questioning her appeal. It's funny, because it is the very peculiarity of her look that I adore so much. It's unconventional, yet striking. Fashion isn't always about traditional beauty. So many facets of 'beauty' encompass the industry to cover a wide array of 'looks' for specific audiences and projects. Daphne may not be your typical L'Oreal or Victoria's Secret idea of beauty, but for i-D Magazine, the girl is quite alright. In this particular case, if I may say so myself, she is quite perfect...I'm just saying.

RUNWAY: THE FRESH PRINTS

MARY KATRANTZOU F/W 12
DURO OLOWU F/W 12
 DRIES VAN NOTEN F/W 12

I am pretty sure that I am not alone when I say that I am obsessed with prints at the moment. Actually, prints have been all the rage for some time now and since I have ascended from my 'dark period' it has been something that I wanted to integrate into my wardrobe.

However, like when embracing color, it has taken me some time to start adding in those key pieces. I am most certain that I will be experimenting with prints more this Spring/Summer, but it is good to know that trend will be continuing into the Fall/Winter season as displayed during the fashion weeks this past February.

Above, are a select few of my favorite looks from those who I have deemed 'The Print Masters'.

SYMPHONY: MIROSLAVA DUMA AND TOMMY TON

I literally have watched this video 5 times already! I am a huge fan of both of these talented individuals and to see them together on this collaboration is inspiring and genius. Tell me, 'you don't love' and I'll tell you, 'you're crazy'.

IN THE NAVY

ph: Tommy Ton for Style.com
I can never grow weary of this look. It's so carefree but so chic, no?
Unfortunately for me, more often than not, the blasted coat won't stay put on my shoulders.
Does this happen to you? Or is just me and my uncooperative shoulders?

POP STAR

Obsessed: Aino Jawo from the Swedish pop duo, Icona Pop. I first laid eyes on Aino outside of the Yigal Azrouel show during New York Fashion Week a few weeks ago. She had this Japanese-influenced aesthetic that really caught my eye and her sharp bowl-like cut really sealed the deal. "Who is this girl?!" I screamed in my head. Of course I photographed her for CURB APPEAL, (which I will post soon) but I wanted to share her with you and show you where to find more of her --or them, because they're cool.
